Honour for Rabbi Schonfeld

On 15th April 2013 Rabbi Schonfeld finally received official recognition for his heroic work in saving thousands from the Shoah. 
This was something new in the traditional British system, where a title or honour can only be given to a living person.  
He was posthumously awarded the designation "British Hero of the Holocaust" and a medal was presented to his son Dr Jeremy Schonfeld at an official ceremony at Lancaster House.
